Finding the Fulcrum

All of the yoga classes I’ve ever attended have consisted of masculinity in motion, because for one, movement is a masculine trait. Every one of us there is a juggler. It may mean juggling family and work, or maybe someone saves lives, or maybe they’re a steward in the community and many people rely on them to show up, or maybe they're a mother. That’s why we’re there. We’re likely doing all of these jobs in some capacity or another. And as much as it fulfills us, the masculine in me needs a break.

This year’s Festival of Faiths, Sacred Insight: Feminine Wisdom, discussed balance for world healing. The talks were around balance between masculine and feminine, between earth and humanity, between spirituality and suffering. I encourage you to watch some of the sessions; they are life changing.

When I signed up for breath work certification, I knew I was unleashing something, but I had no idea what I was really doing. Reverend Monica Coleman said at the festival that 'Everyone loves to give birth metaphorically'. Ha! Giving birth is traumatic, I've done it 3 times, and here I've signed up for it again.

Though when we heal ourselves, we heal the world. This takes bravery and a support network and time and acceptance of the death that occurs with each rebirth. Each one of us has access to this when we open to it.

Nina Simons said at the festival that 'The value of the human experience lies in the wound'. That's not always easy to reach, but just imagine the healing our world could experience if we gave it a shot.

I’m determined to do my part, and part of this is loving my masculine side while listening and honoring my feminine. This article discusses our divine masculine, and how we can embrace it. “We are the ones we are waiting for”. - Vera

For you women of the world who are reading, please enjoy this 7 minute gift and honor yourself. For you men of the world, thank you. Thank you for being the architects to our dream. We love you.

"Our efforts are to honor the masculine, not overcorrect or demonize it." - Lyla June Johnston
